Holland Cooper has sponsored Laura Collett since 2008. Over the past four years we have grown closer to Laura and have enjoyed watching her flourish and achieve great success. Providing her with HC hoodies, Classic polos and an outfit for the all-important trot up phase each year which consists of tweed jackets, tweed skirts and caps, Holland Cooper are proud to be part of Laura’s eventing career.
Since competing show and working hunter ponies at a young age, Laura has been extremely successful on the equine circuit. Competing for team GB in 2005 saw Laura achieve team gold as well as individual bronze at the European Championships in Italy. Individually and as a member of the central team, Laura won at the JRN championships at Weston Park in 2004 and 2005, as well as winning the Pony Club Eventing Championships as a member of the Heythrop Team, again in 2004 and 2005. 2005 also saw Laura compete in South Africa winning individual gold and team silver.
Being selected for the World Class Development Programme allowed Laura to receive expert advice and training from performance manager for the British Eventing team, Yogi Breisner.
Although 2005 was her last year competing ponies, Laura had already achieved success on horses winning the CCI* three day at Weston Park.
In 2006 Laura gained the title of youngest rider ever to win an international two star three day event, when she won the CCI** at Twesledown. She also became Junior European Champion once again during this year.
2007 was another very successful year for Laura as she won her first advanced at Belton Park. She also successfully defended her Junior European title, winning team and individual gold as well as becoming the first British rider to win consecutive junior European titles. In 2008 Laura took the under 21 champion title at Weston Park. Laura won at the Hartpury CCI* and CCI** as well as taking double gold at the Young Rider European Championships in 2009.
2011 was something of a 'dream' year for Laura and Team Collett.. Rayef headed to his first CCI**** at Badminton where Laura also won best trot up outfit 3rd year running in Holland Cooper Tweed , finishing 8th proved dreams can come true... top 10 at her first Badminton was more than a dream come true!
After his performance at Badminton the aim of Senior selection became slightly more realistic. Barbury CIC*** was vital if selection was to become reality, Rayef put up a stunning performance to finish 3rd behind two of the sport’s greatest riders, Pippa Funnell and Piggy French. The following day I received the phone call I'd been dreaming about, "You have been selected to represent GB as an individual at the Senior European Championships with Rayef." Unfortunately it wasn't a dream debut at senior level as Rayef had a blood disorder which affected his performance. Outward Bound was the rising star of the year when he won Hartpury CCI* at just 6 years of age.
2012 is here and the London Olympics are just a few months away... The plan for 2012... Win Badminton, get selected for the Olympics and win Team and Individual Gold in London.... Fingers and toes crossed for another 'dream' year.. Go Team Collett!
